QUEENS PARK

Public BBQ

Queens Park stretches along the Fitzroy River's northern edge, delivering lawns, sheltered picnic spots, and free electric barbecues. The locals call it "Parrot Park" thanks to the colourful parrot sculptures dotted around the place. There's an amenity block on site, plenty of picnic tables under cover, and off-street parking that makes arriving straightforward. Walking and cycling paths wind through the grounds, and a fenced dog park gives dogs space to run. The river views from various spots around the park add to the appeal, especially when you're sitting under shade during Queensland's hot months. The barbecue facilities get regular use, and the covered areas mean weather rarely disrupts plans. The combination of river access, decent facilities, and good maintenance makes it a solid choice for a family picnic or a casual afternoon outside. It's the kind of park that gets people talking about how much they'll miss it when they move away.
